Bringing Art and Identity Together

Journal

At the Hamlet, we take pride in collaborating with exceptional talent to enrich our spaces and infuse creative flair into our luxury apartments. One such collaboration is with Nathalie Chapuis, a visionary designer renowned for crafting bespoke patterns for architectural projects—ranging from facades to cushions, and everything in between. Her work seamlessly blends design, culture, communication, and historical context, capturing the essence of a place or brand and presenting it in the most visually striking way.

Art That Speaks Identity

Nathalie’s work transforms everyday surfaces—be it paint, fabric, walls, floors, carpets, vinyl, or even construction tarpaulin —into artistic expressions of identity. She masterfully designs and customises these materials through printing, constructing, or cutting, creating patterns that communicate the essence of a client’s vision. Her art is not just decorative; it’s functional. By adding a purpose to her creations, she bridges the gap between aesthetic beauty and meaningful representation.

A Journey Rooted in Creativity

Nathalie’s path to this unique profession is as fascinating as her designs. From the age of five, she showed a flair for creativity, painting as a hobby and even decorating her university apartment in an Austin Powers-inspired style. Despite studying political science, art remained a cornerstone of her life. Her journey took her across the globe, from launching art exhibitions in NYC while working in the banking by day, or experiencing the music world in Nashville, to creating a pop-up art gallery with a friend in Paris. Eventually she landed in Geneva where she identified a niche that no one else was addressing: bespoke patterns for luxury hotels and businesses.

Geneva Favorites

Nathalie finds endless inspiration in Geneva, a city she deeply appreciates for its unique blend of nature, culture, and creativity. Among her favorite experiences are renting a boat to enjoy an apéro or a refreshing swim in the middle of the lake. She also cherishes quiet mornings with coffee at L’Épicerie du Mont Sion, where the cozy atmosphere makes her feel right at home. Another beloved spot is the hidden gem of Le Barocco, a restaurant tucked beneath the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, where spring lunches on the patio are made even more special by the welcoming staff. She is also a fan of L’Upcyclerie, a fantastic concept store featuring unique, repurposed pieces—an initiative she had the chance to collaborate with last year. For cocktails with a view, the rooftop of Métropole is a go-to spot, offering stunning panoramas of the city. And in the summertime, there’s nothing quite like the magic of Aubes Musicales at Bains des Pâquis, where live music at sunrise creates an unforgettable start to the day.
